Home-based Speech language therapy for children in Singapore by experienced speech therapists

Speech-Language Therapy

  • We believe that every child is different and will learn best with an individualised approach.

Therapy sessions are planned with the child’s current abilities and needs in mind to challenge him/her to develop skills at an appropriate pace.

  • Our students range from 18 months to 21 years of age.

  • Speech-language therapy covers many domains. Currently, our therapists can help with

    Language
To communicate, we need to understand the messages that others are sending (receptive language) and send messages to express what we are thinking (expressive language). As children grow older, they are expected to start putting words together to communicate with others. Do you feel that your child is not communicating as well as his/her peers? If yes, your child may benefit from speech-language therapy.

    Speech
Children master different speech sounds over several years, but some children have difficulties that they do not seem to grow out of. Do you feel that your child does not speak as clearly compared to peers? Are there certain sounds that your child has difficulty saying? If yes, do consider a speech-language assessment to determine if your child may benefit from therapy.

  • Currently, we offer home-based therapy sessions in Singapore. This means that the therapist will conduct the session in your home. Each session is typically 1 hour, including direct therapy time with the student and discussions with the parents or caregivers. The therapist will bring essential therapy materials, but may also use some toys or books that are available at your home. It is dependent on what keeps your child interested and motivated!

Introduction to Mindfulness short evidence-based courses for adults in Singapore available online or in person

Intro to Mindfulness (MIEA)

  • Intro to Mindfulness is an evidence-based mindfulness curriculum by the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults (MIEA) that teaches mindfulness meditation and stress management skills.

Some results reported by students include less stress, being more mindful, better sleep and less self-judgement.

There are 2 courses available: Intro to Mindfulness Part 1 & Intro to Mindfulness Part 2.

  • The curriculum is created specially for young adults (18 to 30 year olds), but anyone older is welcome!

The curriculum by MIEA can be a good introduction to mindfulness for beginners. It had been shared that adults up to 70+ years old have attended and gave positive evaluations after completing classes.

Online classes are open to anyone who has access to Zoom, no matter where you are located.

As classes are conducted in English, participants need to be able to converse in and read English.

  • All classes are conducted in small groups of 4 to 10 participants.

Currently, classes are conducted online (zoom). If you are interested in organising in-person classes, do let us know!

  • Intro to Mindfulness Part 1 & Part 2 each comprises 4 sessions (75 minutes per session), held on a weekly frequency.

As mindfulness is best developed through regular practice, we also ask that you set aside 10 minutes each day for self-practice.
